Messies - ein schönes Chaos [Ulrich Grossenbacher]

Der Mann ist Bauer, siebzig Jahre alt, und jahrzehntelang hat er sein Land mit Maschinen, Rohren, Plachen, Wellblech, Fässern, Schindeln, Gittern, Brettern vollgestellt und ist vors Bundesgericht gegangen, weil er nichts räumen wollte und mit den Beamten immer nur stritt.
Die Frau hat zwölf Semester studiert, aber seit sie wegen Menschenscheu keine Seminarräume mehr betritt, konzentriert sie sich darauf, ihre Wohnung zu einem Schmelztiegel des Wissens zu machen. Sie hat Kassetten mit Radiosendungen, Videobänder mit Dokfilmen, Ausschnitte aus Zeitungen gestapelt, überall. Geht sie durch die Wohnung, kann sie sich die Aerobic sparen: Sie muss über all ihre Sachen steigen und braucht eine Viertelstunde von der Küche ins Bad.
Solche Geschichten erzählt Ulrich Grossenbacher in seinem Dokfilm Messies – ein schönes Chaos, der 2011 in Locarno lief. Obwohl es kaum Themen gibt, die RTL nicht schon gründlicher abgegrast hätte, ist der Film ein Meisterwerk en miniature geworden, der Zärtlichkeit für seine Figuren erzeugt.
Grossartig der Augenblick, als die Frau Luft holt nach dem Hindernisparcours durch ihr Zuhause, und dann sagt: «Ich hätte gerne ein Leben fürs Lesen und eins fürs Radiohören und eins fürs Fernsehen und eins fürs Reisen. Und wenn ich dann auch noch ein Leben fürs ordentliche Wohnen hätte, wäre das auch nicht schlecht.» Der Hunger dieser Frau und ihre Neugierde, sie reichten aus für ein Dutzend.
Grossartig die Stelle, in welcher der Bauer über «die alten Dinge» spricht und klingt, als wäre er aus einem Beckett-Stück spaziert: «Wir schätzen die alten Dinge nicht mehr. Wir zerstören sie und stellen neue Dinge her. Aber die alten Dinge kann man noch brauchen. Und die alten Dinge sind eine Verbindung zur Vergangenheit, die wir nicht kappen sollten.» Die Schlichtheit dieses Mannes und seine Recyclingphilosophie, sie machen diese Saftwurzel von einem Typen fast schon zu einem Vertreter der Avantgarde.
Grossenbacher filmt diese Geschichten in ruhigen, aufgeräumten Bildern. Sie entfalten eine Schönheit wie die Bilder des Künstlers Vik Muniz, der jahrelang auf der grössten Mülldeponie der Welt lebte, dem Jardim Gramacho in São Paolo, und Portraits der Menschen dort machte, zusammengefügt aus Recycling-Material.
Dass die Welt, oder wenigstens die Schweiz, auch mit etwas mehr Chaos ganz in Ordnung wäre, zeigt der Schluss: Ein Gemeindeangestellter verdrückt nach einer Räumungsaktion ein Brötchen. Als er fertig ist, räumt er auf. Erst rollt er die Senftube zusammen, als ginge es um eine Prüfung in Präzision. Dann räumt er alles in eine Tupperware-Box, Kante an Kante, ein geometrischer Exzess. Es sieht so schrecklich ordentlich aus, dass man in den Film reinspringen und alles durcheinanderwerfen will.
